is CAMACHO

Comprised of vocalist/keyboardist Joe Canada (yes that’s his real name), guitarist Andrew "AC" Segler, drummer Alex Powell, bassist Heath Brister, and guitarist Mac Macdonald, Camacho's infectious sound is enriched by each member's diverse influences. From the psychedelic textures of Pink Floyd to the punk energy of The Damned, their music is a captivating blend of styles that resonates with audiences. Camacho invites listeners to join them on this journey of exploration and connection through their melodies.

“Their latest single, "Something To Do," is a testament to their creative process—after initially crafting the basic chord changes and lyrics in a burst of inspiration, the band spent time fine-tuning the chorus multiple times until it felt just right. With its hooks, crunch, and urgency, this alt-rock anthem is designed to grab attention quickly. The accompanying black-and-white performance video evokes the spirit of ‘90s music, reminiscent of the MTV Buzz Bin era.”

Camacho’s musical stylings range from fast electric tracks to slow ballads and whimsical tunes.

Decatur natives, A.C. Segler and Joe Canada have been making music together since they were kids.
“A.C. and I rode the bus together from 1st-3rd grade and have always bonded over music, and the three of us (including Alex) went to high school together, and attended local shows at Excalibur & Planet Avalon in our hometown of Decatur, AL”

Ballads, anthems, rock songs - Camacho is pretty much all over the place genre-wise. Rather than describing music style, Canada listed bands reflected in the group’s sound.

“I would say the Beatles taught me what I know, in terms of lyrics and chord progression. But there is heavy influences of Smashing Pumpkins, Queen, Pink Floyd with a little bit of Against Me!, Green Day & My Chemical Romance. We just love all music, mainly Rock, and love to be progressive. Hardly any of our songs sound the same.”

“We spend a lot of time together and enjoy basically every moment. It helps when you are like brothers.”

Fun fact: Camacho’s name is a nod to the character of President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho played by Terry Crews in “Idiocracy”

Decatur, AL-born juggernauts Camacho, with their soul-stirring melodies and unapologetic lyricism, embody the spirit of modern indie rock. Led by the enigmatic Joe Canada (vocals, lyrics, and synths) and accompanied by the relentless beats of Alex Powell on drums and the blistering guitar riffs of AC Segler, Camacho is a force to be reckoned with. Their electrifying new single “Overdue” is a sonic manifesto of resilience and defiance.
